Chinese Writing Stone Pendant

Time capsules to lands far, far, away. Wabi inlay pendants are crafted from unearthed stone that was once nothing more than elemental decay. Designed to honor stories of the past imprinted into our land, each pendant frames a unique cut of stone offering clues of its origin and life beyond.

Chinese writing stone was first discovered and described in the 1960's when it was uncovered during road construction in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The Feldspar crystals structures inlayed in the black Basalt were noted to resemble characters from Chinese writing. Feldspar is believed to assist in one working towards ones goals, strengthening relationships, and coping with change.

All stones are carefully selected and carved in-studio. This cut is set in a contemporary frame-like inlay pendant hanging on a Sterling Silver 925 (16 inch) Italian curb chain.
